PHYSICAL THERAPY FOR BODYBUILDERS WHO PLAN TO KEEP TRAINING.

Work one-on-one with a physical therapist who understands training splits, high weekly volume, prep demands, and the difference between being pain-free in daily life and being ready to load a lift again.

THE PLAN HAS TO FIT THE SPLIT.

Your assessment covers the lift that hurts, the work surrounding it, your current phase, and the amount of fatigue you are carrying. The first decision is what can stay in your program. Then the painful work gets modified and rebuilt.

01

Shoulder and pec pain

02

Elbow, biceps, and triceps issues

03

Back and hip pain under load

04

Knee and quad tendon pain

05

Two ways to start

CHOOSE THE APPOINTMENT THAT MATCHES THE JOB.

01

Injury care

PAIN OR INJURY IS CHANGING YOUR TRAINING

Start with a 60-minute physical therapy evaluation. The assessment covers the painful movement, involved tissue, recent workload, exercise setup, and your weekly split. You leave with specific training decisions and the first pieces of rehab.

Recovery work

YOU WANT DEDICATED RECOVERY TIME

Reserve 30 or 60 minutes for focused bodywork. A session may include soft-tissue treatment, dry needling, cupping, ARPwave, or another appropriate option after a brief screen of the area and what you want from the visit.

CARE BUILT AROUND A REAL TRAINING WEEK.

Bodybuilding is Jason's own sport. He trains at Champs Elysium in St. Petersburg and has built relationships with lifters in the Tampa Bay scene. He shares his bodybuilding and recovery work on Instagram as @modafit513.

That context matters when a shoulder hurts on pressing day, a knee changes the entire leg rotation, or contest prep leaves little room for guesswork. Treatment has to account for the weekly split, exercise stimulus, fatigue, posing, and the athlete's current phase.

The goal is to make better training decisions while the irritated area regains strength and tolerance.

TOOLS WITH A JOB.

Each tool has a specific job and should lead into the movement, exercise, or training decision that makes sense next.

01

Physical therapy and training decisions

Assessment, exercise changes, progressive loading, and a plan for building painful lifts back into your week.

02

Soft-tissue and manual therapy

Hands-on work for symptoms and motion, followed by the movement or loading that gives the change somewhere to go.

03

ARPwave neuromuscular stimulation

Electrical stimulation paired with movement or exercise when it fits the athlete and the purpose of the session.

04

Dry needling and cupping

Options for selected cases after screening. They can support a session, but they do not replace the work that rebuilds training tolerance.

05

StemWave

Focused acoustic-wave treatment intended for temporary relief of minor muscle and joint aches and pains, available alone or alongside rehab.

QUESTIONS FROM LIFTERS

Start here if you are deciding between physical therapy, a recovery session, or a focused treatment visit.

Jason starts by identifying what you can still train. Painful exercises may need a change in load, range, setup, or weekly volume, but the goal is to keep as much useful training in place as your presentation allows.
Yes. Thirty- and sixty-minute recovery sessions reserve time for bodywork and other appropriate treatment options. Jason screens the area first and confirms what fits the session.
No single tool belongs in every appointment. Jason selects treatment based on the problem, the athlete, and the goal for that day. Physical therapy visits may include these tools when they support the larger plan. Dedicated ARPwave and StemWave visits are also available.
Athletic Potential appointments are held at 4956 W Sligh Ave in Tampa, inside Driveline Baseball. Jason also trains at Champs Elysium in St. Petersburg and works with people from the Tampa Bay bodybuilding community.
Athletic Potential is cash-based and out of network. Eligible physical therapy visits may receive a superbill for possible reimbursement. Recovery sessions and standalone treatment services may not qualify. We review cost before you book.
